The Rijeka Bypass Section includes the part from the Matulji Interchange to the Orehovica Interchange. The length of this section is 8.85 km. The section is a part of the A7 motorway.
Structures built on this section include 4 tunnels, 2 viaducts, 1 bridge, overpasses and underpasses. The most challenging structure on the Rijeka Bypass is the Rječina Bridge, 208.5 m long.
Rijeka Bypass along with its diverging roads, in the direction of Trieste, Ljubljana, Zagreb and Split represents the main road of wider international importance thus making a part of the trans-European road network.
On the part of the alignment between the Mihačeva Draga Viaducts and the Kozala Overpass, 352 m long, noise protection was installed in the steel tunnel structure on the newly opened south carriageway. The structure is partly covered with solar panels which together constitute a solar power plant.
RSF Vrata Jadrana is located on this section.
