Single definition of quality does not exist. Quality is considered a characteristic of a product or a service which meets the set requirements. In simple terms, we can say that a quality product or a service is free of defects.

Quality is free. It is not a gift, but it is free. Non-quality is expensive - all actions due to which work has not been performed properly the first time, and every other time, are expensive.

Aware of importance of quality for us and the wider community, Autocesta Rijeka - Zagreb d.d. ("ARZ”) has introduced the quality management system according to ISO 9001:2000 standard and had it certified in December 2004, and the requirements of the revised standard ISO 9001:2008 were included in the system in 2009. The management system was recertified in 2007 and 2010, and surveillance audits are conducted successfully every year, confirming that the system is being maintained and implemented.

Quality commitment stands for willingness to change the way an organization operates, and development of the organization's new culture based on strategic guidelines and permanent goals: safety, ecology and serviceability.

With the implementation of this system ARZ is building a corporate image of a company with the dominant user orientated culture. We see our users as partners and the employees are aware that their existence is conditioned by performance in solving our company's key partners’ problems.

Considering the fact that Quality Management System to ISO 9001 offers the possibility of integration of environmental, safety and risk management and further development towards an integrated management system, we are going in that direction - Environmental Management System according to ISO 14001 standard was certified in spring of 2007 and recertified in 2010; and after successful implementation, the Occupational Health and Safety Management System according to OHSAS 18001 specification was also certified in 2010.
