Rupa-Rijeka-Križišće motorway, 42.73 km long, is the first section of the Adriatic traffic route which links the Croatian motorway routes with Slovenian and Austrian motorway network.
There are seven interchanges on the motorway: Rupa, Matulji, Diračje, Orehovica, Draga, Sv. Kuzam and Križišće.
The motorway is connected to the Istrian Y via the Matulji Interchange, and to Rijeka –Zagreb motorway via the Orehovica Interchange.
The motorway is divided into two sectors: Rupa-Rijeka and Rijeka-Križišće Interchange which has been operated by the company Autocesta Rijeka-Zagreb d.d., since September 2007.

Due to a traffic accident, which happened at the 234th km of A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway, at Sredanci rest area in direction Lipovac only one road lane is free.
